Carlos Jallës is a software architect and developer with over 26 years of international experience. A specialist in web and mobile platform solutions, he has extensive expertise in application security, artificial intelligence, DevOps, and software engineering. He currently develops innovative applications with strong expertise in SAP, integrations, and business process optimization.
Holding a postgraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a specialization in Big Data, he applies AI and Machine Learning to Enterprise Asset Management, generating strategic insights for the industry. He also has experience in software architecture, various programming languages, and databases, including Azure, .NET Core, Flutter, Oracle, and SQL Server. His focus is on creating efficient and scalable solutions for companies across different industries.
We asked Carlos a few questions so you can get to know him better.
Can you share a bit about your role at S4A and how AI fits into your day-to-day work?
I have over 20 years of experience in software architecture and development, during which I have witnessed numerous technological advancements, new programming languages, trends, and innovations. What fascinates me most about this field is that the evolution never stops; we are constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new possibilities. At the core of all this is our primary goal: to provide users with the best technological experiences, both in their work and in their lives.
At S4A, I work as a software developer, focusing on creating applications for the SAP environment and developing new AI-based technologies. As a true technology enthusiast, I believe that software development is an art—each interface created and every feature implemented reflects the creativity and skill of the developer.
AI has become an invaluable tool in my daily routine as a developer. It helps me streamline repetitive tasks, analyze complex data faster, and find optimized solutions to coding challenges. With AI assisting in tasks such as code suggestions, debugging, and automation, I can dedicate more time to what truly excites me—designing innovative solutions and crafting intuitive user experiences. AI empowers me to be more productive and creative, enhancing my ability to deliver high-quality software efficiently while continuously learning and evolving with the technology.
What initially drew you to AI and machine learning and how did you develop your expertise in the field?
I first came across AI during my Computer Science degree. At that time, AI was still a very restricted field, with applications mainly focused on scientific research. However, even then, I was fascinated and realized there was something incredible about it, which sparked my interest. I followed the evolution of the field gradually until the rise of Machine Learning (ML), which revolutionized the industry with its powerful algorithms, optimizing processes in procurement, sales, production, and many other areas.
Around the year 2021, the popularization of Generative AI marked a significant turning point, making this technology accessible to the general public and integrating seamlessly into people’s daily lives. This breakthrough further fueled my curiosity and motivation, leading me to dive deep into the field of AI. Since then, I have dedicated myself to extensive studies, tested and used various market solutions such as ChatGPT, and developed integrations and AI-based applications.
Currently, I am pursuing a lato sensu postgraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computational. This training has provided me with the necessary knowledge to design advanced algorithms and models, allowing me to develop tailor-made solutions that add value to S4A’s AI initiatives.
What are some of the most exciting AI-driven innovations you’ve worked on/explored at S4A?
I am currently involved in an extraordinary project at S4A: the development of an AI-powered solution integrated with SAP, which has the potential to revolutionize the market. This project brings together two powerful forces—on one side, SAP, one of the most advanced and widely used enterprise resource planning systems in the world; on the other, AI, which emerges as a powerful ally to automate and optimize complex tasks within the SAP environment, directly impacting business management and decision-making.
This project represents one of the greatest challenges of my career, but I am extremely confident. At S4A, we have a highly skilled and dedicated team, along with visionary leaders who believe in and continuously invest in technological innovation. This environment provides us with the ideal conditions to explore new possibilities and turn ambitious ideas into concrete solutions. I am certain that we are on the right path to delivering something truly transformative.
